In short. This is a study aid, not the official test and not legal advice. Passing here does not give you a licence, and road rules change — always check the official handbook published by your state's road authority.
1. Acceptance
By downloading or using Oz Driver Knowledge Test ("the app") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. What the app is
The app provides study material, flashcards, and practice and mock tests to help you prepare for the driver knowledge test administered by your state or territory road authority. It is an independent educational tool.
3. Not official government material
The app is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or authorised by any Australian government or state road authority, and it does not represent any government entity or provide government services. Practice questions are written by us to match the published format of the official test; they are not the official question bank, and the official bank is not public.
Official information about the test, and the authoritative road users' handbook, are published by each state's road authority. Book your test with them.
4. Accuracy and currency
Road rules are state law and change over time. We make a genuine effort to keep the material accurate and current, but we cannot guarantee that every rule, figure or penalty in the app reflects the law as it stands on the day you read it. Where the app and the official handbook disagree, the official handbook is correct.
Nothing in the app is legal advice.
5. No guarantee of a result
We do not warrant or guarantee:
- That you will pass your driver knowledge test
- That any question in the app will appear in the official test
- That the app is free of errors or will be available without interruption
6. Purchases
Reading the handbook is free. "Full Access" is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase that unlocks the practice test, mock test, flashcards and Smart Review. It is not a subscription and does not renew.
Purchases are processed by Google Play or Apple, not by us. Refunds are handled under the store's own policy — contact Google Play or Apple directly. If you reinstall or move to a new device, use Restore Purchase in Settings with the same store account.
7. Acceptable use
You may use the app for your own personal study. You may not copy, redistribute, resell, scrape or bulk-extract its content, or attempt to circumvent the in-app purchase.
8. Intellectual property
The app, its design, its lesson text and its practice questions are our property or used with permission. Road rules and government-published content remain subject to their original copyright, held by the relevant state road authority.
9. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the app, including any consequence of failing a test, receiving a fine, or relying on material that has since changed.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Privacy
Our handling of data is described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. The effective date above will change when we do, and continued use of the app means you accept the update.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
